Platinum Mitsubishi 2006 National Champions in Gr5 Vehicle: 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart Zebe & Tomasz are one of the longest rally competing pair in Western Canada, and one of most recognizable teams with their Yellow Mitsu, always followed by big group of polish supporters at each event. This year after winning 2wd at Olympus Rally in US, and taking amazing 3rd overall at Rocky, and 5th at Pacific Forest Rally, and not finishing both Quebec events due to mechanical gremlins, still being contenders in Gr.5, and top 5 in overall national championship, we have to consider Kananaskis Rally as a worm up to Tall Pines Rally. Since we still have a chance for 2nd Overall In Western Canadian Championship we can promise to be right on the limit to achieve this result. We hope that big improvements, with new dogbox transmition, and sequential shifter, mechanical problems should be thing from the past. For the team it will be winning or bust approach. We hope to put a good show, worth watching for spectators. Sponsors: Platinum Mitsubishi, ZZ Construction, Traditional Hardwood Flooring, |

Ista Rally Sport Photo taken by: Andrew Snucins / worldrallysport.com http://www.istarally.ca/Ista Rally Sport is returning from the trying event of PFR but still hold the lead in Grp2 for the WCRC. It's down to the final event for the husband / wife team. "We have to finish a head of Eric and Leanne of Kamunen Racing to win." Kris was happy with his speed at the last rally, swapping times with his rivals until a bad pacenote had them slide off the road and loose 16 minutes. "as long as that doesn't happen again i believe we stand a good chance and winning it." Look for flatout driving from stage one from the red corolla of Ista Rally Sport. Thanks to all those who made this event possible for us. We would not have been able to do this without you. |

Prescribed Burn Rally Team photo credit A Snucins http://www.pbrteam.ca/Prescribed Burn Rally Team driver and founder Mark Jennings-Bates won the Western Canadian Open Class and Novice titles with an Eagle Talon in 2006. Co-driver Jennifer Daly and a new crew of dedicated volunteers, lead by Dave Hood, joined the team in 2007 after Mark took on 'the Shadymobile,' an unusual but reliable Subaru Impreza. The Prescribed Burn Team had their best National finish ever this year at Rocky, where they placed sixth overall. Outside of stage rally both the in car team members have been pursuing other adventures: Jennifer's Sirius Rally Team placed second at the Winter Alcan 5000 Rally in February, and Mark has recently returned from a dirt bike trip in South Africa, part of his preparation for the 2011 Dakar Rally. Their volunteer service crew has also had a busy summer, competing in autoX, drag races and Subaru shows across the Pacific Northwest. After a great result at Rocky Mountain Rally, the PBR Team is returning to Alberta for the last rally of the year. The Okanagan based rally team has struggled this season with mechanical problems and a crash at the BC regional in June, but they will continue to pursue the Western Canadian Open Class Title at Kananaskis. The Prescribed Burn Rally Team extends appreciation to the spectators and local businesses who are supporting rally in Western Canada, and everyone is welcome to stop in at service to say 'hi' or check in on the team. Kamunen Racing Photo credit: Andrew Snucins / WorldRallySport http://www.kamunenracing.ca/Kamunen Racing's driver Eric Grochowski and co-driver Leanne Junnila have had a thrilling season so far, winning the Canadian Group 2 championship with 4 victories after 5 rounds in the National series. However, the hard fought Group 2 title in Western Canada is far from decided, and only a victory over Kris and Jaclyn of Ista Rally Sport will bring the regional title to Kamunen as well. "I love racing with Kris and Jaclyn, they have amazing speed and it was a total blast to swap times with them at PFR last month. I know this event is their favorite, but it's one of my favorite as well. Hopefully we can both have a clean run - I think it's going to be close, no matter how it finishes!" Kamunen would like to thank all of the volunteers and organizers of the Kananaskis rally, see you there! |

Gopher Rally Photo credit: Kris Schofield, ista_photographic http://gopherrally.blogspot.com/The Gopher Rally Racing team will consist of Driver Chad LePoudre of Warman, SK (currently Saskatchewan’s only stage rally competitor), and Co-Driver Christ Monasch of Calgary, AB for the 2008 edition of the Kananaskis Rally. This will be the first time the duo has competed at this event and is hoping for a weekend of fun and a good finish. It’s been a long year, as the 2007 edition of the Kananaskis Rally was the last time the car was rallied. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone at the event. |

Contrail Rally Racing Finishing our second year as a team, we have managed to intimidate all the P2 competition into leaving for Group 2. Philip Garlick is driving and Travis Charland is co-driving, until he gets his own car sometime in the near future. Kananaskis is always a challenge with it's varying surfaces and conditions. We're looking forward to a clean, fast event. |
