Hardyboy Racing
Vehicle: 2005 Evo IX Co-Driver: John Hall, Sherwood Park, Alberta 2010 Western Canadian Rally Champions Hardy Schmidtke, a three time Western Canadian Rally Champion and his co-driver John Hall are competing in both the Canadian Rally Championship and the Western Canadian Rally Championship for 2012. Going into the 2012 season, after many years of being a Subaru driver, Hardy decided to switch to a Mitsubishi Evo IX. It took a couple of events and some testing to get used to the different handling and performance characteristics of the car, Hardy & John are settled into the car and the pace has been picking up nicely throughout the season. The team finished 4th at Rocky in May. DNF'd at Baie when the rear suspension failed on a big double bump, at the time the team was battling for 6th place and had been maintaining a blistering pace. At Rallye Defi in September they fought off a few mechanical issues to finish 12th overall. Then in October they finished 2nd at PFR getting their first National Podium finish together. Hardy & John are leading the Western Canadian Rally Championship. And currently sitting 4th and the National standings. Both Hardy and John are looking forward to Kananaskis as it uses some of the best rally roads in the country, making it a really fun yet challenging event. |
